The Architeckz Athletic Hip-Hop Team was created by Jereil Bey to encourage youth to use Hip-Hop Street Dances as an Inner City Sport for all City Neighborhoods Promoting Physical Activity, team work and Unity. The Architeckz are a Hip-Hop Athletic Team that travels city to city challenging other urban street dancers to competitions in their own neighborhoods (And 1 style). We are encouraging a new sporting activity titled T.U.R.F.’n©(Takin Up Room on the Floor). We have organized an outlet to develop positive healthy alternatives to working out and feeling good while dancing.
Hyphy Dance Troupe The Architeckz Combat Inner City Disputes Through Dance
Street dance is one of the most innovative new ways to settle disputes and the Architeckz street dance troupe out of Oakland are taking their message to the streets across America. Formed in 2002 by Jereil Bay and supported by Ignazio Martinez, this dance troupe is composed of the top artists from the Oakland, CA, hyphy movement as seen in music videos such as E-40’s “Tell Me When to Go” and a Too Short video. They use dance, or t.u.r.f. dancing (taking up room on the floor) to compete and settle arguments. Basically, the best dancers, innovators, those with the most energy, win the competition.
